Courtesy: RECORDSRemember The Wanted, the British boy band who scored a global smash with “Glad You Came?”  Member Nathan Sykes has had some solo success since they went on hiatus, and now another member, Max George, is trying his hand at the solo thing.

Max just released his debut solo single  “Barcelona,” which was co-written by Steve Mac, the same guy who co-wrote “Shape of You,” “What About Us,” “Strip That Down,” and many other hits. The video that goes along with it finds Max on a beach, pining over a female surfer.

“I’ve worked with a lot of amazing writers, some from The Wanted days, and I feel like I’ve settled in to a sound,” Max says in a statement. “It’s not a million miles away from what I’ve done before, but it’s fresher and sharper, sometimes more stripped back, maybe more experimental.”

No word on whether an album from Max will follow.
