For the first time since she was 15, Taylor Swift has a new record label home.

The singer’s long-time deal with Big Machine Records expired last month, and she’s now signed a new multi-year deal with Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group.  Big Machine has what is described as a “strategic alliance” with Republic Records, which may explain the switch.

In an Instagram post, Taylor celebrated her new deal and revealed two elements. First, she’ll own her master recordings from this point forward. In addition, Taylor said that if Universal Music Group sells its shares in Spotify, she wants some of the money to go to their artists.  She wrote, “They have generously agreed to this, at what they believe will be much better terms and paid out previously by other major labels.”

Also in the note, Taylor offered her “heartfelt thanks” to Scott Borchetta, who signed her to Big Machine when she was a teenager.  To her fans, she wrote, “My biggest goal moving forward is to make you proud. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to show you what I’m making next.”
