Shahar Azran/Christian Tachiera Wanna feel old?  Next month marks the 30th anniversary of New Kids on the Block‘s breakthrough album, Hangin’ Tough, which was released September 6, 1988.  To commemorate the occasion, the group will do a special New York City concert at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem.

The October 7 show will be the group’s first time back at the Apollo since they debuted “Please Don’t Go Girl” at the theater’s famous amateur night, where they earned cheers from the notoriously tough-to-please audience.   A Fan Club pre-sale starts at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Hangin’ Tough was New Kids on the Block’s second album, but it was the one that launched them to stardom, spinning off hits including “Please Don’t Go Girl” — their first top 10 single — plus “You Got It (The Right Stuff),” “I’ll Be Loving You (Forever),” the title track and “Cover Girl.”   The album has gone on to sell 14 million copies worldwide.
