She debuted it last month at the American Music Awards, but now Jennifer Lopez has released her new single.
“Limitless,” written by Sia, is from the soundtrack of J-Lo’s new movie Second Act, in which she plays Maya, a 40-year-old woman stuck in a low-paying job. When a private finance firm is fooled into thinking she’s a high-powered consultant, it hires her to handle a major business deal and she finally gets a chance to shine.
The song is an empowering anthem, as J-Lo sings, “I told myself I had to be a different someone/In order to win at a war I had already won/Yeah, I’d given up on the saying ‘I’ll never give up’/But look at me now/Yeah, look at me, I’m limitless.”
Second Act also stars J-Lo’s real life BFF Leah Remini, as well as Vanessa Hudgens and Milo Ventimiglia. It arrives in theaters December 21.
