Markus PritziDua Lipa’s a big sensation here in the U.S., but back home in the U.K., she’s a newly-minted superstar.  In fact, British bookies have reportedly named her as one of the favorites to record the theme song to the next James Bond movie.  But Dua herself claims to have no knowledge of whether or not she’s actually going to do it.

Asked by Billboard if there’s any truth to the rumors that she’s got the inside track to do the Bond theme, Dua said, “I don’t know….I would love to do it but I’m not recording it so far.  I don’t know.  I don’t wanna jinx it!”

The last two Bond themes — for 2012’s Skyfall and 2015’s Spectre — were sung by Adele and Sam Smith, respectively, and both won Oscars for their work.  Both also continually denied that they had been tapped for the job, even after they’d landed the gig…so stay tuned.

The next James Bond movie, which is being referred to as Bond 25, will arrive in November of 2019.  Daniel Craig will again portray 007, while Danny Boyle will direct the film.
