MILAN ZRNICChristina Aguilera is preparing to headline her first tour in more than a decade, and she says the idea of hitting the road again is a bit daunting because of all the changes in her life since then.

“It’s scary. I wasn’t a mom that last time I went out on a tour,” she tells People magazine.  In fact, when she hits the road in September, she’ll be bringing her daughter Summer Rain, who’s three-and-a-half, along for the ride.

“She’s a mama’s girl and I’ll definitely be taking her on the road with me,” Christina says. “She’s going to learn to see life through a different set of eyes. I’m going to try to make it as cushy and comfortable for her as possible because if she’s not comfortable, I’m not.”

As for her 10-year-old son Max, whom she shares with ex-husband Jordan Bratman, she says, “My son will probably stay back [home] with his dad so he can do school and be focused.”

Christina tells People, “My kids always come first,” and when it comes to her new album Liberation, she means that literally.

“My daughter’s laughter actually begins the intro of the record,” she explains. “Being a mother is so important to me.”

Liberation is Christina’s first album in six years and she tells People it feels “amazing” to be back.

“I’m thrilled. I feel like a new artist again, which is so refreshing. It’s what I’ve been needing for so long, getting back to my roots and just singing again.”

Christina’s tour kicks off September 25 in Hollywood, FL.
