After the Grammys, viewers go off the deep end for Lady Gaga's “Shallow”

Monty Brinton/CBSBelieve it or not, there appears to be some people who’ve never heard Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper‘s hit duet “Shallow.”

Gaga sang a raucous solo version of the song on Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, and Billboard reports that according to Nielsen Music, it was the biggest seller of all the tunes performed during the telecast.

Nielsen Music says that “Shallow’s” sales increased 229% after the Grammys, with 14,000 units sold, up from 4,000 the days before.

While “Shallow” didn’t have the biggest percentage increase of the Grammy songs — that would be “Hard Place,” by R&B star H.E.R., whose sales increased 102,000% — it sold the most units overall.

Other winners were Brandi Carlile’s “The Joke,” whose sales went up over 2,700%, and Kacey Musgraves‘ “Rainbow,” which experienced a sales increase of more than 9,400%. These whopping percentage increases came due to the fact that those songs had sold next-to-nothing the previous week.

Another fun fact about “Shallow”: Thanks to its two wins on Sunday night, Lady Gaga became the first person ever to win a Grammy and a British Academy of Film and Film and Television Arts — or BAFTA — award on the same day.  While the Grammys were taking place in L.A., the BAFTAS were happening in London, and Gaga won for Best Film Music.

Streaming figures for the Grammy songs will be released soon, says Billboard.
