ABC/Randy HolmesAlmost a month after his 40th birthday on March 18, Adam Levine is still celebrating.

On Tuesday night, to mark the milestone, the Maroon 5 frontman and his pals arranged a pick-up basketball game on the Staples Center court, right after the Los Angeles Lakers’ ended their season with a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Adam, sporting a new Mohawk, and his friends all wore custom Lakers jerseys featuring the number 40. The JumboTron read, “Happy 40th Birthday Adam!” and kept track of the score.

Journalists and spectators in the stands documented the surprise post-game game.

One tweeted, “This might be the most entertained I’ve been at a Lakers game in awhile.”

While another wrote, “Perfectly appropriate cap to a truly bizarre day in Laker Land? Adam Levine celebrating his 40th birthday with an 11 p.m. pickup game on the Staples Center court.”

Not only did the Lakers lose their game 101-104, but Magic Johnson also announced his abrupt departure as team president Tuesday.  No word on whether Adam’s team won.
