ABC/Ida Mae AstuteAhead of tonight’s release of his brand-new song “Feel Something,” Adam Lambert has penned a personal and revealing message to fans.

He starts off the message by thanking fans for their “patience and continued faith” in him, adding that he’s currently “coming out of a dark period of second-guessing my own artistry and having my mental health suffer because of it.”

“I started asking myself, ‘is all this hustle really worth it?’” he continues. “I put all my focus on my work and started to feel detached in my personal life. My self-worth was suffering. I was lonely and becoming depressed.”

He credits touring with Queen with recharging his energy and says he was able to pull himself out of the darkness with “a bit of professional help and the support of colleagues, friends and family.”

Adam says he began writing songs for his new album and decided to change up his team; he hired a new management company and signed with a new record label.

“Feel Something,” he says, is the “emotional starting point” of his new album.

“This was written about me climbing out of the low period, defying my disillusionment, owning my needs, and opening my heart,” he writes.

Adam concludes, “Since writing this song, I’ve found the joy I was missing and I’m back in my power. I can’t wait for you to hear more!”

“Feel Something” drops at 12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT.  Adam and Queen will also perform on Sunday night’s Oscar telecast on ABC.
